Alitura was formed by Ness Simon and Bo Cook.
Since then we have worked on a wide variety of projects in Sussex, Kent, Surrey, London and Dorset.
By combining our love of good design, technical expertise and our appreciation and understanding of plants, we pride ourselves in creating beautiful outdoor spaces for our clients to appreciate and enjoy. Our projects have included complete re-designs and planting plans for private clients, community allotments and gardens, and border-redesign.
We combine technical expertise with a passion for plants and design, and believe that designing with the environment in mind is crucial. Where possible we reuse existing materials and plants, as well as considering the future climate in our planting. We source local materials where available, and also work with local suppliers and contractors. Our designs support wildlife by enhancing existing habitats, as well as creating new ones.
After training in garden design Ness Simon gained extensive plant based experience as a Gardener for the National Trust in a Sussex. Whilst working there she also carried out a one year Historic and Botanic Gardens Bursary internship in the gardens. Since then she has carried out planting design work for other award winning designers in Sussex and now works alongside Bo in their garden design partnership.
Bo Cook gained extensive experience working in a number of award-winning garden design practices before becoming a partner in Alitura. Bo has passed stage 1 of the 3 stage adjudication process to become a Member of the Society of Garden Designers, with the aim to be fully accredited by summer 2017. She runs courses in computer aided design using Vectorworks 2017 and teaches designers 1-2-1.
The design work was to a high standard… and a high level of professionalism and commitment was maintained (while project managing the build] with several changes being dealt with efficiently and competently.
